At least a part of an image comprising samples (pixel or pixels) is encoded / decoded, where each sample comprises at least two components. The encoded image comprises at least one filtering parameter (e.g. offsets Ox1, Ox2 40¦). Loop filtering (e.g.sample adaptive offset - SAO) of a first component and a second component of a reconstructed or decoded sample is based on at least one common filtering parameter (1802, 1803) of the decoded /computed filtering parameter. By taking into account the interdependencies between components, it is possible to improve the coding efficiency of SAO, to reduce the memory buffer needed to store SAO parameters, and to reduce the complexity of the classification. The filtering parameter may be determined in a variety of functions involving e.g. the plurality of estimated filtering parameters, the components of samples, and the number of samples of the component.
|
