PURPOSE: A hydraulic pressure control apparatus for an auto transmission is provided to prevent engine stall due to a malfunction of a switching valve, by operating the switching valve by a working hydraulic pressure supplied from a friction element. CONSTITUTION: A switching valve(30) determines the supply of hydraulic pressure supplied to a damper clutch(12) of a torque converter(10). A solenoid valve(50) determines the supply of a working hydraulic pressure supplied to the switching valve. A compulsory releasing part(80) supplies release hydraulic pressure to the switching valve. The compulsory releasing part releases the operation of the damper clutch.
