Method for detecting failures and for recording the valve stroke of a glue valve

The method involves determining the actual values of temperature of glue valve (10) or measurable variables from which actual temperature values of the glue valve is derived. Several determined actual values of temperature of glue valve are compared with stored reference values or threshold values for the glue valve. The compared result is evaluated for determining appropriate actual value of temperature of glue valve in operation. An independent claim is included for method for automatic acquisition of valve lift of glue valve.
