<p>The invention relates to a dimensionally stable and rotationally symmetrical tool support (7, 15, 23) which is reinforced with natural fibers, which can be connected to a rotary drive, and which has at least one tool bearing surface (9, 21, 25) for receiving at least one grinding and/or polishing element (5, 15, 27). Said tool support (7, 15, 23) is produced by means of an injection molding technique using granulate. The aim of the invention is to improve the mechanical properties of a tool support (7, 15, 23) of the aforementioned type without disadvantageously influencing the manufacturability of said support. This is achieved in that a granulate is used for an injection molding method, said granulate being substantially composed of jute fibers (31) and a thermoplastic matrix material. The invention further relates to an injection molding method for producing such a tool support (7, 15, 23), wherein granulate is first plasticized and subsequently injected into a hollow molding chamber under pressure.</p> |
