PURPOSE: An alphabet input method and a device using the same are provided to input contemporary Korean and archaic words of Hangul, and to input numbers and the English alphabet in the Korean mode. CONSTITUTION: A Korean consonant-vowel combined character display method is implemented as follows: if a right-placed vowel is inputted after an initial consonant in the form of "X+o" is inputted, the "X+o" type consonant is processed in a vertically attached form, and if a bottom-placed vowel is inputted, the "X+o" type consonant is processed in a laterally attached form.
