<p>PURPOSE: An air conditioner and a control method thereof are provided to prevent the freezing of an evaporator by measuring water flow in the evaporator. CONSTITUTION: A control method of an air conditioner is as follows: A compressor operates(S210). An inflow temperature, which is the temperature of a refrigerant drawn into the compressor, is measured. If the inflow temperature is lower than a normal intake temperature, the compressor stops(S250). The water flow of an evaporator is detected. If water does not flow in the evaporator, the compressor stops.
