A baby sleeping bag 1 comprises first and second major sides 2, 3 and has a closed position for holding a baby, in which the sleeping bag has an opening (5, figure 1) for the neck and a pair of openings (6, 7) for the arms of the baby, each arm opening being separated from the neck opening by shoulder means 8, 9 releasably fastening the major sides together and each arm opening having arm opening releasable fastening means 12, 12' in the vicinity of the opposite end (13) of the arm opening to the shoulder means, wherein the arm opening is reduced when the releasable fastening means is fastened. The sleeping bag preferably includes at least one handle, which more preferably comprises a strap 20. At least one of the major sides may include a pocket (4) on the face facing away from the other major side. Also disclosed is a combination of the sleeping bag of the invention 1 and an inner hand bag 23 arranged to fit within the sleeping bag and being removable.
