The method involves inserting seal (1) into two female profile sections (7,8). The positioning of seal end faces (5,6) relative to each other is performed such that end faces are connected at distance (13). The end faces are heated to about 100 [deg] C and below decomposition temperature by heater (18). A thermoplastic compound film (22) is formed between end faces. The two seal ends are pressed so that cooling of both sides and integral joining of two seal end faces with compound film are performed. A profile corner of compounds from plastic profiles is produced. An independent claim is included for device for connecting two ends of gaskets made of rubber.
