PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for determining the durability of a wiper blade are provided to determine the replacement time of the wiper blade using the received amount of infrared rays reflected by a windshield glass. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for determining the durability of a wiper blade comprises an optical sensor(10) and a controller(20). The optical sensor comprises a light emitting part(11) for emitting infrared rays to a windshield glass; and multiple light receiving parts(12) for receiving the infrared rays reflected by the windshield glass. The controller determines the replacement time of the wiper blade by comparing the received amount of the infrared rays of the windshield glass with a reference received amount.
