 A method for improving the growth of target plants at a locus is provided, the method comprising applying to the locus a growth-improving amount of compound (1): The method is suitable for improving the growth of a range of target plants, in particular improving the growth of sugarcane, rice, oilseed rape and potato crops. The compound (I) is clomazone. Also disclosed is use of the compound (I) in microencapsulated form. Further disclosed is use of compound (I) wherein the amount of fertilizer applied to the locus is reduced by at least 10% by weight from the amount that would be applied to achieve the same plant growth without treatment with compound (I). |
