A ground engaging tool system comprises a ground engaging tool such as a tip, an adapter mounted to or part of a work tool, and a rotating lock member (200). The lock member (200) comprises a head portion (230) and a rear leg (221), a top leg (222), and a bottom leg (223) forming a C-shaped portion (220) attached to the head portion (230), wherein the top leg (222) and the bottom leg (223) of the C-shaped portion (220) cooperate to define a slot (210) for receiving a post portion of the adapter. The lock (200) is rotated so that the entrance to the slot (210) is blocked and the post cannot slide out of the slot (210). The lock (200) in this position is in a locking position, and the retention of the post in the slot (210) of the lock (200) retains the ground engaging tool to the adapter. |
