PURPOSE: A light emitting device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve the convenience of an operation by easily forming an uneven part on the side of a light emitting structure. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting structure includes a first semiconductor layer, a second semiconductor layer(126), and an active layer. The light emitting structure is composed of a nitride semiconductor with a hexagonal crystal structure. An uneven part(170) is formed on the side of the light emitting structure. The upper side of the uneven part is triangular. At least one side of the triangular part includes the nonpolar surface of the hexagonal crystal structure. |
