PURPOSE: A pretreatment method of biomass is provided to suppress by-products, to exclude neutralization process of acid and alkali, to use a reactor material with a low cost, and make a separate waste water treatment unnecessary. CONSTITUTION: A pretreatment method of biomass comprises a step of preparing acid and alkali ionized water; and a step of bringing one kind of the ionized water into contact with the biomass or continuously bringing both of the ionized water into contact with the biomass regardless of the biomass. The biomass comprises cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. The pH of the acid ionized water is 2-5 and the pH of the alkali ionized water is 9-12. The contacting step is conducted at 100-250 °C for 10-360 minutes.
