摘要 PURPOSE: A vehicle collision preventing system using an infrared depth sensor and radar and a method thereof are provided to improve the reliability to detect an obstacle located in a short range section of a driving direction. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle collision preventing system comprises an infrared depth sensor(100), radar(200), a display module(300), a braking module(400), and a control unit(500). The infrared depth sensor senses the existence of an obstacle in the front and the rear of a vehicle. The radar outputs an electric wave to the outside and receives the electric wave reflected by the surrounding obstacles in order to detect the existence of the obstacle. The control unit firstly determines the existence of the obstacle with the infrared depth sensor and secondly determines the existence of the obstacle based on the received signal through the radar.
