PURPOSE: A thin film solar cell and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to form an electrode surface layer including a large amount of oxygen in the back electrode, and to secure the stability of the back electrode in a high temperature. CONSTITUTION: A thin film solar cell includes a substrate, a back electrode(20), a light absorption layer(40), and an electrode surface layer(30). The back electrode is formed on the substrate. The light absorption layer is formed on the back electrode and includes selenium or sulfur. The electrode surface layer is formed between the back electrode and the light absorption layer. The electrode surface layer includes oxygen for controlling the diffusion of sodium from the back electrode to the light absorption layer.
