PURPOSE: An automatic reception response and termination method in a portable terminal is provided to enable a user to selectively communicate with other people. CONSTITUTION: A voice recognition unit automatically provides responses according to a response pattern based on voice recognition of specific words by listening to the voice of a caller in an automatic reception state. The voice recognition unit determines the call of a user. When the user wants to receive the call, the voice recognition unit recognizes the call intention indication voice of the user. After the user terminates the call, the voice recognition unit recognizes a call termination mention.
