PURPOSE: A negative electrode active material is provided to obtain a secondary battery with high initial efficiency and capacity and excellent charging and discharging lifetime. CONSTITUTION: A negative electrode active material comprises a silicon-metal alloy, a silicon single alloy, and a dopant. The silicon single alloy is formed by rapid cooling and has a micronized structure. A manufacturing method of a negative electrode active material comprises a step of melting the metal and silicon together and adding a dopant to form a melted material(S10); a step of quenching the melted material and forming a quenched solid(S20); and a step of forming a negative electrode active material by pulverizing the quenched solid(S30).
