<p>PURPOSE: A real-time program update checking system and an update checking method thereof are provided to analyze version information in real time before a program is downloaded in a client and to download the program having a latest version by checking an update version. CONSTITUTION: A client(100) includes a download file checking unit(102), a web browser checking unit(104), an up version alarming window display unit(106), a download managing unit(108), and a first communications unit(110). The download file checking unit recognizes version information of a download file which is downloaded in the client. The web browser checking unit recognizes a link value of a webpage corresponding to the position of a mouse cursor moving in a web browser of the client. The up version alarming window display unit displays download information of an update file provided by the update server. The download managing unit manages to download the update file if download items of the update file are selected in the up version alarming window. The first communications unit provides and receives diverse information while communicating with the update server.
