PURPOSE: A method for confirming product information by using an RFID tag and a device therefor are provided to supply a service for improving reliability of provided information by authenticating whether a product with the RFID tag is genuine or not based on password information and ID information obtained from the RFID tag. CONSTITUTION: A reader unit(210) performs communication with a tag on a product. An application control unit(220) extracts identification information stored in the tag through the reader unit and obtains product information, current password information, and new password information corresponding to the identification information. The application control unit compares the current password information with password information stored in the tag in order to confirm the genuineness of the product. When the confirmation of the genuineness is completed, the application control unit updates the password information stored in the tag as the new password information.
