WASHING MACHINE AND CONTROLLING METHOD OF THE SAME

PURPOSE: A washing machine and a control method thereof are provided to use two independently driving drums to enable three dimensional flowing of the washing target moving inside the drum of the washing machine; thereby improving the washing performance of the washing machine and reducing washing time. CONSTITUTION: A washing machine comprises the followings: a main body(10) outside; a tub(40) equipped inside the main body; a main drum(50) mounted rotatably inside the tub and accommodating the washing target inside; a sub drum(60) mounted inside the main drum to be able to rotate relatively with the main drum; a drive motor(70) including a stator(71), an outer rotor(72) which is connected to the sub drum and rotating from an outer side of the stator, and an inner rotor(73) which is connected to the main drum and rotating from an inside of the stator; and a control unit(100) for driving the outer rotor and the inner rotor. The control unit has a characteristic of driving the outer rotor and the inner rotor in the equal driving numbers and the smaller target rotating numbers of the outer rotor and the inner rotor, respectively, when driving the drive motor.
