PURPOSE: An operation and control method of a washing machine is provided to operate a washing machine generating the three dimensional flows to enable the columnar direction and axial direction flow of the washing target inside a drum thereby improving the washing performance with the three dimensional flows of the washing target. CONSTITUTION: An operation method of a washing machine comprises a washing step(S100) supplying the washing water and detergent and performing a washing process, a rinsing step(S200) supplying the rinsing water and performing a rinsing process, a dehydration step(S300) draining the rinsing water and performing a dehydration process, and a container arrangement step(S400) separating the washing target inside a main drum and a sub drum after completing the dehydration. The washing step is a step supplying the washing water and detergent and performing a washing process. A general laundry process refers to a process of moving the washing target in a columnar direction by the rotation of the main drum and the sub drum. Compared to a three dimensional washing process, the general laundry process is rotated integrally without doing the relative motion of the main drum and the sub drum. The rinsing step refers to a step of supplying the rinsing water and removing the detergent remaining in the washing target. The dehydration step refers to a step of draining the rinsing water by the centrifugal force of the rotation of drum and dehydrating the washing target. The container arrangement step refers to a step separating the washing target from the main drum and the sub drum after completing the dehydration.
