PURPOSE: A control method and a multimedia device thereof are provided to improve channel browsing data processing speed by simply designing hardware in a virtual channel browsing method. CONSTITUTION: A network interface(230) transmits a stored first channel list and additional information to an external server. The network interface receives EPG(Electronic Program Guide) information on a second channel list from the external server. A control unit(270) requests graphic data identifying one or more events of each channel based on the received EPG information of the second channel list. When the graphic data identifying one or more events is received from the external server, a display device(280) outputs the graphic data in each channel.
