PURPOSE: A plant cell wall protein HyPRP1(hybrid proline-rich protein-1) coding gene is provided to develop a transgenic plant with enhanced cell apoptosis regulation and disease resistance, and to enhance resistance to pathogens. CONSTITUTION: Plant cell wall protein, HyPRP1, which regulates cell apoptosis or disease resistance, contains an amino acid sequence in sequence number 2 or 4. A gene encodes the protein, and contains a base sequence in sequence number 1 or 3. A recombinant vector contains the gene. A host cell is transformed with the recombinant vector.
