PURPOSE: A method for reducing tension in an assembled pipe wall of a steam generator is provided to obtain thermal energy for obtaining heat required for a tension-reduction annealing process with air or gas of high temperature. CONSTITUTION: A method for reducing tension in an assembled pipe wall of a steam generator is as follows. A tension-reduction annealing process is performed throughout a large area while a pipe wall region or a pipe wall segment for a thermal treatment is installed in the steam generator. The thermal treatment is performed while the pipe wall region or the pipe wall segment in which an assembled area of a diaphragm wall of the steam generator of a power plant is large.
