<p>1,068,243. Gaseous or liquid fuel fired heating apparatus. ANTARGAZ SOC. ANON. DE DISTRIBUTION DE GAZ LIQUIDES DE PETROLE. July 10, 1964 [July 19, 1963], No. 28586/64. Headings F4B and F4W. A gaseous or liquid fuel fired apparatus for heating by radiation and convection comprises a easing 1 containing a duct system 2 for the circulation of burnt gases and connected to a flue 2<SP>1</SP>, a radiation burner comprising a radiation plate 7 having perforations for the passage of combustible material from a mixing chamber 8, a preheating chamber or vaporizer tube 14 fixed within the gas circulation system above the mixing chamber and associated at one end with the mixing chamber and open at the other end, this end accommodating the nozzle 11 of a fuel feed pipe 10. An electric resistance 18 is positioned below the preheating chamber 14 for the primary ignition of the combustible material passing through the plate. A metallic grid 19 is fixed adjacent the radiation plate 7, and a plate 6, transparent to infra-red radiation is sealed in an opening 5, in the duct system, opposite the burner. An adjustable orifice 17, for the admission of air to the mixing chamber, is provided either at the outlet end of the preheating chamber or in the mixing chamber. The burner and the duct system are kept under a partial vacuum. The casing 3 surrounding the duct system 2 acts as a convection surface by transferring heat from the burned gases to the air within the casing 1 which air can pass through the perforations in the casing to the space to be heated.</p> |
