<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet moving device which can achieve, by a simple structure, a moving mechanism of a sheet discharged on a tray after an image is formed, and also in which the misalignment of the sheet hardly occurs upon the movement of the sheet. <P>SOLUTION: A pressing member 55 is turned from a third position to a fourth position, and then in conjunction with the turning, a shift guide 73 turns from a second position to a first position. As a result, a squeezed part of an upper end of a projection piece pushes up a lower surface of printing paper upward, and the printing paper is separated from a roller surface of a discharge roller 53.
