<p>An aqueous resin composition containing emulsion particles, each of which has an inner layer and an outer layer. The aqueous resin composition is characterized in that: the inner layer is formed of a polymer (I) which is obtained by emulsion polymerizing a monomer component that contains 75-100% by weight of a monomer having an alicyclic structure and 0-25% by weight of a monomer that is copolymerizable with the monomer having an alicyclic structure; the outer layer is formed of a polymer (II) which has a glass transition temperature of 40°C or less; the weight ratio of the polymer (I) to the polymer (II), namely polymer (I)/polymer (II) is from 25/75 to 75/25; and the total content of the polymer (I) and the polymer (II) in the emulsion particles is 50-100% by weight. The aqueous resin composition has excellent weather resistance, excellent resistance to hot water whitening, excellent blocking resistance and excellent freezing damage resistance.</p> |
