PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a control method thereof are provided to conveniently set a communication network to be accessed. CONSTITUTION: A detecting unit(181) detects an accessible wireless communication network through a wireless communication unit. A control unit(180) outputs an icon corresponding to one or more wireless communication networks detected by the detecting unit on a locking screen. The locking screen is displayed in a locking state to limit the input of the control command to an application. When one of the outputted icons is sensed, the control unit unlocks the locking state. The control unit controls the wireless communication unit to access the sensed icon.
