<p>In the present invention, an internal combustion engine (2) is provided with: an SCR system (8) disposed in an exhaust pathway (4); and a microparticle sensor (14) that is disposed downstream of the SCR system and that generates an output in accordance with the amount of microparticles adhered to an element. A control device (16) that controls the internal combustion engine (2) has a detection means that detects the state of urea-related substances being adhered to the element, and has a temperature control means that increases the element to a first temperature region when the state of urea-related substances being adhered is detected. Here, the first temperature region is a temperature region that is higher than the temperature at which urea-related substances gasify and lower than the temperature at which microparticles combust. As a result, the adhesion of urea-related substances to an electrode of the microparticle sensor is suppressed, and so output unevenness is suppressed.</p> |
