The crash energy when reaching the end position, which corresponds to rest chair and/or stroke stop of the armature and/or valve element, is reduced. The positional accuracy of the switching valve is increased. The amplitude and/or duration and/or timing of the control are changed so that braking is changed. The wear of the switching valve showing over the service life can be accounted and the operation noise be permanently lowered. Since the quantity control valve is switched with a relatively high frequency, the operating noise of the flow control valve is significantly reduced.
