<p>The endoscopic system is provided with: an endoscope objective optical system that obtains two optical images with differing focus positions; two image pickup elements that receive the two optical images and perform photoelectric conversion; an image combination unit that combines the two images corresponding to the two optical images from the two image pickup elements into a single image; and a focal point-switching mechanism that moves the position of a focal point-switching lens provided in the endoscope objective optical system and selectively switches the focal point of the endoscope objective optical system to one of two observation ranges, for near observation or for far observation. In each observation range, for near observation and for far observation, the image combination unit combines two images.</p> |
