WATER-IN-OIL BITUMEN DISPERSIONS AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING PAVING COMPOSITIONS FROM THE SAME Abstract The present invention relates to bituminous compositions suitable for use in paving 5 applications containing water-in-oil bitumen dispersion of paving grade bitumen such as penetration-graded, viscosity-graded and/or penetration-graded varieties that is substantially free of volatile solvents and made by controlling temperature-dependent interfacial rheology through the use of selected surfactants. The invention paving compositions are suitable for use in the construction of load-bearing, high-traffic 10 pavements at a temperature range lower than that required for conventional hot-mix bituminous paving compositions, yet with similar or superior compaction to densities property and at least equal cure rate.
