A pump monitoring device (32, 110) is configured to be connected to a case drain (30) of a pump (12). The device (32, 110) includes a manifold (34, 112) having an inlet (48, 120) for connection to the case drain (30). A flow rate sensor (38, 126) generates a signal indicative of a flow rate of fluid in a fluid path (46). The flow rate sensor includes a temperature sensor (134), a heater (132), and a sensor barrel (130). The heater (132) heats the sensor barrel (130) while in fluid communication with the fluid. A pressure sensor (62, 140) generates a signal indicative of a pressure of the fluid. There is at least one fault indicator (70) operatively coupled to at least one of the flow rate sensor (38, 126), the temperature sensor (134), and the pressure sensor (62, 140). The fault indicator (70) provides a human perceptible indication that at least one of a sensed flow rate, a sensed temperature, or a sensed pressure of the fluid flowing in the fluid path exceeds a predetermined threshold value. |
