The frame has frame parts e.g. upper and lower parts, designed to hold a flattened edge area (2) of an electrochemical cell (1) and to provide a passage for two arresters (3, 4). An arrester retaining device is utilized for retaining the arrester. Two pressure tabs are arranged at the frame upper part such that pressure tab space between the tabs is equal to a pressure tab side space between one of the tabs and a longitudinal side of one of the arresters. The frame lower part comprises a contact surface on which an arrester pressing element slightly presses the former arrester.
