PURPOSE: An air conditioner is provided to directly indicate an air discharge and an air discharge position when air is discharged through a front cover. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner comprises a front cover(50), a rear cover(72), a rear decorating plate(80), a front decorating plate(90), and an optical device(100). The front and rear surfaces of the front cover are opened, and an air discharge space is formed inside the front cover. An air outlet, where air is discharged to the air discharge space, is formed on a part of the circumference on the front cover. The rear cover is combined to the front cover. The rear decorating plate is mounted on the rear cover. The front decorating plate is arranged in the front side of the rear decorating plate. The optical device is installed on the rear cover, and emits light between the rear and front decorating plates. The front decorating plate is exposed through the air discharge space while covering the rear surface of the front cover.
