<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a wide viewing angle liquid crystal display device which includes liquid crystal molecules having high response speed, and which is excellent in display characteristics and long-term heat resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The method has the steps of: applying, on conductive films of a pair of substrates each having a conductive film, a polymer composition including (A) at least one kind of polymer selected from the group consisting of a polyamic acid and an imidized polymer of the polyamic acid obtained by reacting a diamine and a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride containing specific alicyclic tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride represented by a bicyclo [3.3.0] octane-2,4,6,8-tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride, and (B) a compound with two or more polymerizable unsaturated bonds, thereby forming a coating film; forming a liquid crystal cell by aligning the pair of substrates on which the coating films are formed, with a liquid crystal molecule layer interposed therebetween so that the coating films face each other; and irradiating the liquid crystal cell with light while applying voltage between the conductive films of the pair of substrates. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
