<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device, etc. which makes it possible to heighten the picture quality of shot images. <P>SOLUTION: The image pickup device comprises: an image pickup unit which incorporates a plurality of pixels, each including a photoelectric conversion element; a drive unit which drives each pixel so that a readout operation for reading out electrical charges obtained by the photoelectric conversion elements as signals and a reset operation for resetting the electrical charges in the pixels will respectively be performed; and a signal processing unit which executes prescribed signal processing on the basis of the signals obtained by the readout operation to generate an output signal. The drive unit drives each pixel so that the readout and the reset operations will respectively be executed intermittently a number of times within a prescribed unit period. The signal processing unit executes at least addition processing as signal processing on the basis of a first signal obtained by the first readout operation in a unit period and a second signal obtained by the second and subsequent readout operations performed after the first reset operation is executed, to generate an output signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
