<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of driving an image display device without degrading display quality even when it is operated by using a spread spectrum clock (SS_CLK). <P>SOLUTION: An image display device uses a spread spectrum clock (SS_CLK) supplied from a spread spectrum clock generator circuit (SSCG) as a circuit operating clock and includes an active matrix display and an oscillator circuit for generating a display charge pump clock (HCK), for determining on/off time for the source current of transistors within the active matrix display, from the spread spectrum clock (SS_CLK) (the display charge pump clock (HCK) may be directly supplied from the spread spectrum clock generator circuit SSCG), which oscillates at a frequency that is multiple times (e.g., 1000 times) a reference frequency of the spread spectrum clock. Counting of a clock pulse output from the oscillator starts in synchronous with the (rising and falling) edges of the spread spectrum clock and the output to the display is maintained until the count reaches an arbitrary number. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
