摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably cause discharge in a write-period and prevent occurrence of erroneous discharge on a discharge cell for increased driving performance while reducing the driving cost in a high definition plasma display panel. <P>SOLUTION: The plasma display panel includes a discharge cell at each intersection of plural scanning electrodes each included in plural scanning electrode groups, plural maintaining electrodes each disposed substantially parallel to the scanning electrodes and plural data electrodes each disposed substantially perpendicular to the scanning electrodes and the maintaining electrode being interposed by a discharge space. The plasma display panel drive unit drives the plasma display panel while dividing one field period into plural sub-fields each including a write-period and a maintaining period.
