<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EGR cooler unit protection device for vehicular engines for improving output of an engine and protecting an EGR cooler unit when an external force is applied to the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A metallic pipe section (25) which extends from a connection part (21) to the vehicle front side of the EGR cooler unit (17) is formed on an intercooler inlet piping (15), and the pipe section (25) and the EGR cooler unit (17) are placed one on top of another in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle.
