The invention relates to a multi-link crank drive (8) of an internal combustion engine (1), having a plurality of coupling elements (9) rotatably mounted on crank pins of a crankshaft (2) and a plurality of articulated connecting rods (13) rotatably mounted on crank pins (17) of an eccentric shaft (6). Each of the coupling elements (9) is pivotably connected to a piston connecting rod (4) of a piston (3) of the internal combustion engine (1) and to one of the articulated connecting rods (13), and the rotational angle position of the eccentric shaft (6) can be adjusted within a specific rotational angle range by means of an actuating device (22). According to the invention, the eccentric shaft (6) is fixed in at least one rotational angle locking position by means of a locking device (29). The invention also relates to a method for operating a multi-link crank drive (8).
