<p>The present technology relates to a solid-state image pickup element and a camera system, wherein A/D converted digital array data can be transmitted to a subsequent-stage signal processing circuit without using sensing-amplifiers, and during which increase in power consumption and decrease in data rate are inhibited. A pixel signal reading unit comprises retaining units for retaining digital signals output by A/D converter units, and a plurality of bus wiring for outputting the digital data retained by the retaining units to a transmission unit. The transmission unit shares a plurality of the abovementioned bus wiring as a group, and selects and transmits digital signals in group units.</p> |
