<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyamide resin composition having improved mechanical characteristics and heat resistance, wherein cellulose fibers and layer silicate are uniformly dispersed in a polyamide resin without agglomerating; and to provide a method for producing the resin composition. <P>SOLUTION: The polyamide resin composition contains, based on 100 pts.mass of polyamide resin, 0.01-50 pts.mass of cellulose fibers, and 0.01-100 pts.mass of layer silicate.
