<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brick residual thickness measuring apparatus capable of stably performing a continuous measurement for a long period of time without damaging or giving adverse effect on a carbon brick and a measuring apparatus such as a temperature sensor or without leaking noxious gas such as CO and H<SB POS="POST">2</SB>S. <P>SOLUTION: The brick residual thickness measuring apparatus is attached to the inside of a steel shell 6 in a blast furnace 10 in which a castable refractory 5, stave 4, stamp 3, and a carbon brick 2 are superposed in this order, and measures the thickness of the carbon brick 2. The blast furnace 10 includes a measurement hole 12 that penetrates through the steel shell 6 and is communicated to the outer surface of the carbon brick; and a mounting flange 14 that is airtightly provided in the through-hole of the steel shell communicated with the measurement hole. The measuring apparatus comprises: an ultrasonic sensor 16 that is inserted into the measurement hole and pressed to the outer surface of the carbon brick via a contact medium 19; a sensor pressing device 20 that presses the ultrasonic sensor towards the carbon brick at a predetermined force and pulls out a signal line from the ultrasonic sensor to the outside of the steel shell; and a sealed housing 30 that takes out a signal of the signal line to the outside while retaining the airtightness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
