<p>The method involves heating a workpiece (1) partially inductively by an inductor (3) i.e. induction coil (9). The inductor and/or the workpiece are moved relative to each other and parallel to a face portion (7) to be heated along a heating path. The heating path is selected such that the inductor overcoats over the entire face portion of the workpiece. A locally oscillated relative movement is preferably overlain along the heating path by a robot. The inductor and/or the workpiece are held in a retainer by the robot, where the retainer is moved by utilizing a drive unit.</p>
