PURPOSE: A method for selectively enabling the reception of a downlink signaling channel and a device thereof are provided to control the reception of a DL(DownLink) EU(Enhanced Uplink) signaling channel to be enabled only when the channel is demanded. CONSTITUTION: A transmitter(118) communicates with a processor to send one or more channel allocation requests to node Bs. A receiver(116) communicates with the processor. The receiver receives the channel allocation information from the node Bs at one or more DL signaling channels. A physical reception control entity(114) communicates with the processor and the receiver. The physical reception control entity enables or disables the reception of specific DL signaling channels from among the DL signaling channels based on the decisions made by the processor.
