OPTICAL PICK-UP AND OPTICAL RECORD REPRODUCTION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pick-up contributing to stabilize signal reproduction in DRAW technology.

SOLUTION: The optical pick-up has an optical system that forms plural light beams using light from a light source, focuses a recording beam and a reproducing beam to form a main spot and a sub spot respectively on an optical recording medium. The optical system focuses the recording beam and the reproducing beam on the optical recording medium so that the main spot moves prior to the sub spot at an identical point on the optical recording medium. A detector detects the reflection light of the recording and reproducing beams reflected by the optical recording medium to generate an electrical signal. The detector includes a first light receiving element 10 that receives a main spot light 50R reflected by the optical recording medium and a second light receiving element 11 that receives a part of the sub spot light 51R reflected by the optical recording medium.
