A two-wheeled electric vehicle (1) is provided with: an electric motor (4) for driving wheels; a main battery (95) for driving the electric motor; a case (8) removably loaded with a sub-battery (6) for driving the electric motor; a connecting terminal (83) having connected thereto a terminal (60) of the sub-battery (6) loaded in the case (8); a loading detection sensor (84), which detects that the connecting terminal (83) is connected to the terminal of the sub-battery (6); and a controller (3), which detects residual quantities of both the batteries, and is electrically connected to the electric motor (4), the main battery (95), the connecting terminal (83), and the loading detection sensor (84). When the loading detection sensor (84) detects that the sub-battery (6) is connected, the controller (3) preferentially carries electricity to the electric motor from the sub-battery (6) when a residual quantity of the sub-battery (6) is a predetermined value or more, and when the residual quantity is less than the predetermined value, the controller carries electricity to the electric motor (4) from the main battery (95). |
