The objective of the present invention is to provide an easily inserted ultrasonic observation device, thus the present invention is provided with: an ultrasonic transducer (21) having an ultrasonic wave transmission/reception surface (21a) that transmits/receives ultrasonic waves; a holding unit (22, 23) that affixes/holds the ultrasonic transducer; an insertion section (12) that is formed in a hard tube and to the tip of which the holding unit is affixed; and an insertion assisting tool (31) that is formed in a hard rod or tube and is disposed insertably/removably threaded in the insertion section. The holding unit is affixed to the tip of the insertion section in a manner so as to form a bent shape at a predetermined angle from the tip of the insertion section in the direction of separation from the longitudinal axis direction, and the bending angle of the holding unit with respect to the longitudinal axis direction of the insertion section is set in a manner so that a line of extension from the line contacting the tip surface of the insertion assisting tool when the insertion assisting tool is disposed threaded in the insertion section contacts the ultrasonic wave transmission/reception surface.
