PURPOSE: A composition for skin-protection from ultraviolet rays containing a compound extracted from Eisenia bicyclis extracts is provided to have protective action on photoaging or photodamaging of skin due to the ultraviolet rays by the direct suppression of the production of active oxygen. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for treating the photoaging or photodamaging of skin due to ultraviolet rays comprises one of eckol compounds or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The compound of the composition is extracted from Eisenia bicyclis.
